Not a big story in a game in Valladolid where 13th ranked Lobe Huesca (5-13) was defeated by fifth ranked Blancos de Rueda (11-7) 84-79 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lobe Huesca won fourth quarter 27-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and the former international guard Roman Montanez (191-79) who added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Blancos de Rueda's coach Porfirio Fisac allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Edgar Vicedo (201-94) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and German guard Sebastian Koch (203-91, college: Elon) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Blancos de Rueda and four Lobe Huesca players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Blancos de Rueda went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Forca Lleida. Lobe Huesca lost seventh consecutive game. Loser Lobe Huesca keeps the thirteenth place with 13 games lost. Blancos de Rueda will meet Palma (#8) in the next round. Lobe Huesca will play against Clinicas Rincon (#15) in Malaga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
