Regular Season Round 19: Le Mans - Chalons-Reims 79-88

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Le Mans (10-9) and Chalons-Reims (8-11), which took place in Le Mans. Higher ranked Le Mans lost at home to fourteenth ranked Chalons-Reims 79-88 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for American center Darryl Watkins (211-84, college: Syracuse, agency: KMG Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Morris Curry (181-87, college: Providence) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Rodrigue Beaubois (186-88, agency: Comsport) answered with 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Beninese power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (206-90, college: Villanova) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Le Mans. Chalons-Reims moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Rouen and Gravelines. Loser Le Mans dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Chalons-Reims will face higher ranked JDA Dijon (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
