Rather expected game in Aguascalientes where 11th ranked Panteras (12-21) were defeated by eighth ranked Jefes (18-15) 87-79. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 28-16 run, which allowed them to win the game. Jefes dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Panteras' 32. Jefes forced 19 Panteras turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. American-Cape Verdean swingman B.J. Monteiro (195-90, college: Duquesne) contributed with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Puerto Rican forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Panteras. Jefes moved-up to seventh place. Panteras at the other side keep the eleventh position with 21 games lost. Jefes will play against higher ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Panteras will play against Huracanes (#6) in Tampico and hope to get back on the winning track.
