The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Zaglebie's (10-8) home victory over 9th ranked GTK Gliwice (7-11) 75-70 on Saturday. GTK Gliwice was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 26-19 charge of Zaglebie, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Marek Piechowicz (201-88) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Grzegorz Mordzak (182-77) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Four Zaglebie players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Wojciech Fras (203-91) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds and forward Hubert Pabian (200-89, agency: Promotex) added 9 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Zaglebie moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Spojnia and Rosa II Radom. GTK Gliwice at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. Zaglebie will meet Astoria Bydg. (#10) in the next round. GTK Gliwice will play against SKK Siedlce and hope to secure a win.
