Regular Season Round 20: Toyota A. - Denso Iris 43-56

The most important game in the last round took place in Nagoya between second ranked Toyota A. (15-4) and fourth ranked Denso Iris (15-4) on Saturday night. Toyota A. was defeated by Denso Iris at home 56-43. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Toyota A.. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Toyota A. to just 6 points in fourth quarter. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Yuri Ushida (181-89) chipped in 6 points and 19 rebounds. International forward Mika Kurihara (178-89) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Kazumi Suzuki (177-86) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Denso Iris moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Toyota A. Denso Iris will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyota A. will play again on the road against Denso Iris in Kariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
