Very important is a road loss of second ranked Baerum Basket (9-5) against fourth ranked Gimle BBK (10-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Baerum Basket was defeated by Gimle BBK in a tough game in Bergen 67-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Baerum Basket. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Baerum Basket was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 37-27 second half run of Gimle BBK. They outrebounded Baerum Basket 52-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Baerum Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and Serbian power forward Nemanja Jelesijevic (210-79, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Gimle BBK players scored in double figures. At the losing side Johannes Dolven (200-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) scored 19 points and 6 assists. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Baerum Basket at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Gimle BBK will play against Asker Aliens (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Baerum Basket will play against Ammerud Bskt in Oslo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
