Regular Season Round 15: Terpsithea - Olympiakos 80-58

Rather expected game in Glyfadas where 9th ranked Olympiakos (3-13) was crushed by seventh ranked Terpsithea (7-9) 80-58. The game was mostly controlled by Terpsithea. Olympiakos was better in fourth quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Terpsithea dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Olympiakos' 40. Terpsithea forced 19 Olympiakos turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Alexandra Williams (183, college: St.Francis, PA) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. International center Elina Iskioglou (188-86) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Terpsithea players scored in double figures. Guard Rafaela Soultani (171-91) answered with 20 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Niki Zerva (184-79) added 7 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Olympiakos. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Terpsithea moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Anagenisi. Olympiakos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Terpsithea's next round opponent will be league's second-placed AE Ellinikou on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olympiakos will play against Anagenisi (#5) and hope to win that game.
