HyPo did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 74-57. It looked good early as Tapiolan Honka took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then HyPo had a 18-15 second period charge getting the lead and Tapiolan Honka was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-74. HyPo dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Tapiolan Honka's 20. They outrebounded Tapiolan Honka 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 20 rebounds and power forward Titta-Riina Lepisto (184-90) supported her with 21 points. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by Tuuli Menna (182-96) did not help to save the game for Tapiolan Honka. Center Iina Salmenkivi (182-97) added 9 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Newly promoted HyPo maintains fifth position with 9-11 record. Tapiolan Honka at the other side keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. They share the position with FoA. HyPo will play against Forssan Alku (#8) at home in the next round. Tapiolan Honka will play against ViVe in Vimpeli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
