A very interesting game took place in Avellino. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 10th ranked Air Avellino (7-10) to ninth ranked AV Cantu (8-9) 79-76 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as Air Avellino took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then AV Cantu took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. The best player for the winners was Dominican-American guard James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) who scored 15 points. American point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. American guard Adrian Banks (191-86, college: NW Mississippi CC) produced 18 points and American-Nigerian power forward O.D. Anosike (203-91, college: Siena) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Air Avellino players scored in double figures. Air Avellino's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AV Cantu moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Vanoli CR. Air Avellino lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. AV Cantu's next round opponent will be higher ranked Dolomiti En. TR (#7) in Trento and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Air Avellino will play on the road against VL Pesaro and hope to win that game.
