Regular Season Round 38: Jilin NE T. - Jiangsu D. 113-97

Not a big story in a game in Changchun where 14th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (11-27) were defeated by fifth ranked Jilin Tigers (27-11) 113-97. The game was mostly controlled by Jilin Tigers. Jiangsu Dragons was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jilin Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu Dragons' 56. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Jilin Tigers brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) notched 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) supported him with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Jilin Tigers' coach Curro Segura used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even a double-double of 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists by American point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) did not help to save the game for Jiangsu Dragons. The former international forward Lin Chang (206-88, college: Long Beach St.) added 16 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Jilin Tigers have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Jiangsu Dragons lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 27 games lost.
