Regular Season Round 38: Foshan LL - Xinjiang FT 103-129

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Foshan's (18-20) home loss to ninth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (25-13) 103-129. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Foshan was better in third quarter 33-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige dominated down low during the game scoring 90 of its points in the paint compared to Foshan's 54 and made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Foshan 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Foshan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) notched a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and center Wei Liu (210-89) supported him with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 50 points (!!!) and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) did not help to save the game for Foshan. Swingman Mingxin Ju (200-93) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Foshan's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to eighth place, which they share with DongGuan L. Foshan at the other side keeps the tenth position with 20 games lost.
