Regular Season Round 20: Tortona - Treviglio 80-78

A very close game took place in Tortona between Tortona and Treviglio. Eighth ranked Tortona (11-9) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Treviglio (12-7). Tortona managed to escape with a 2-point win 80-78 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Treviglio won fourth quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tortona made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jeffrey Crockett (201-91, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Brazilian Jonathan Tavernari (198-87, college: BYU) who added 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Power forward Raphael Gaspardo (206-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Czech Tomas Kyzlink (195-93) scored 19 points. Five Tortona and four Treviglio players scored in double figures. Tortona moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Reggio Calabr. Loser Treviglio keeps the third position with seven games lost. Tortona will meet Reggio Calabr. (#6) in the next round. Treviglio will play against Roseto and hope to secure a win.
