Rather expected game when 7th ranked ASA Jerusalem (6-10) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (10-6) 68-45 on Monday. The game without a history. Bnot Hertzeliya led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ASA Jerusalem to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded ASA Jerusalem 41-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Essence Carson (183-86, college: Rutgers) fired 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Bnot Hertzeliya players scored in double figures. Coach Gilad Katz's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ashley Shields (180-85, college: SW Tenn.St.CC) produced 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Marie Malone (191-89, college: Hofstra) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Bnot Hertzeliya maintains fourth position with 10-6 record. Newly promoted ASA Jerusalem keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Hap.Petah Tikva. Bnot Hertzeliya will meet league's leader Maccabi Ashdod on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. ASA Jerusalem will play against Elitzur Holon (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
