Regular Season Round 20: Flamengo - Minas 77-59

The game in Rio de Janeiro was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Minas (12-8) played at the court of fifth ranked Flamengo (12-6). Flamengo did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 77-59 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Flamengo. Minas was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian point guard Nicolas Laprovittola (193-90) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and international Vitor Benite (191-90) who added 22 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. Center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and the former international power forward Shilton Santos (198-82) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Loser Minas dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Flamengo will face Unitri (#13) in Uberlandia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Minas will play on the road against Macae (#12) and hope to win that game.
