Regular Season Round 13: Capitalinos - Guantanamo 90-35

LSB top team - Capitalinos (13-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Guantanamo (2-10) 90-35. The game without a history. Capitalinos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Guantanamo to just 6 points in second quarter. Capitalinos held Guantanamo to an opponent 22.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.5 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Guantanamo 46-27 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Capitalinos players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by Guantanamo's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. International forward Karel Guzman (188-95) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and international center Jasiel Rivero (204-93) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Capitalinos players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Antonio Sanchez (195-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and forward Yosvanys Lowis (195-91) scored 4 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitalinos have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. Guantanamo lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Capitalinos will again play against bottom-ranked Guantanamo (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Guantanamo will have a break next round.
