Regular Season Round 16: Ramat Hasharon - Elitzur Ramla 97-91

The game between closely ranked teams ended with thirteenth ranked Hasharon's (5-11) home victory over bottom-ranked Elitzur Ramla (1-15) in Ramat Hasharon 97-91 on Tuesday. Elitzur Ramla was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Elitzur Ramla 39-21 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Hasharon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by forward Raz Zehavian (197-82) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Lorenzo Gordon (201-83, college: Oklahoma City) supported him with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Even 33 points (!!!) by American guard Anthony Fisher (191-86) did not help to save the game for Elitzur Ramla. His fellow American import forward Billy White (203-89, college: San Diego St.) added 20 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hasharon moved-up to twelfth place. Elitzur Ramla lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Hasharon will meet higher ranked Ironi Ashkelon (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Elitzur Ramla will play again against Hasharon (#11) and hope to win that game.
