Liga Superior top team - Pinar del Rio (14-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Camaguey (4-10) 81-77. Camaguey was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 46-40 second half run of Pinar del Rio. The former international point guard Arlenis Romero (176-84) scored 27 points, 5 assists and 9 steals to lead the charge for the winners and international Arlety Povea (186-84) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Pinar del Rio players scored in double figures. International forward Leidis Oquendo (180-82) responded with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Naila Alfonso (174-88) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Camaguey's coach Eduardo Moises tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pinar del Rio have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-0 record. Camaguey at the other side keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Pinar del Rio will play against bottom-ranked Artemisa (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Camaguey will play against Guantanamo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
