Regular Season Round 14: Capitalinas - Guantanamo 83-69

An interesting game for Capitalinas (10-4) which hosted in second-ranked Guantanamo (9-3). Third ranked Capitalinas managed to get a 14-point victory 83-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Guantanamo. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-69. Center Zuleira Atis (190-80) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Dairis Tornell (176-92) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Capitalinas players scored in double figures. International center Clenia Noblet (190-87) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and forward Sandra Enamorado (174-84) added 8 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Guantanamo. Guantanamo's coach Osmel Planas rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitalinas moved-up to second place. Guantanamo at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Capitalinas are looking forward to face Villa Clara (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Guantanamo will play against Camaguey (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
