Regular Season Round 14: Artemisa - Santiago 91-82

The game between Top Four teams took place in San Cristobal. Third ranked host Artemisa (8-5) defeated second-ranked Santiago (10-4) 91-82. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Swingman Joice Daudinot (194-85) scored 28 points (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Osmel Oliva (178-87) chipped in 22 points, 5 assists and 10 steals during the contest. International center Javier Justiz (205-92) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Eddy Hechevarria (193-86) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Artemisa maintains third position with 8-5 record having seven points less than leader Capitalinos. Santiago at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Artemisa are looking forward to face Pinar del Rio (#5) in the next round. Santiago will play against Las Tunas and is hoping to win this game.
