Regular Season Round 20: Grasshoppers - Binnenland 66-85

Date: February 4, 2015
The game in Katwijk was also quite interesting. Third ranked Binnenland (9-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Grasshoppers (6-12). Binnenland did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-66 on Wednesday. Binnenland outrebounded Grasshoppers 43-25 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Binnenland especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Zera Butter (179-92) who scored that evening 35 points (!!!) and 8 assists and international center Rianne De Roos (191-89) supported her with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by power forward Ingrid Van der Plas (178-91) did not help to save the game for Grasshoppers. Fleur Kuijt added 13 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Grasshoppers' coach Rick Driessen rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains third position with 9-8 record having six points less than leader Lekdetec.nl, which they share with CTO. Loser Grasshoppers keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. Binnenland will meet CTO (#4) in the next round. Grasshoppers will have a break next round.
