Regular Season Round 15: Sancti Spiritus - Santiago 91-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Santiago's (6-9) road loss to fourth ranked Sancti Spiritus (10-4) 82-91. The game without a history. Sancti Spiritus led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for international Yamara Amargo (179-85) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Power forward Milaisis Duany (183-79) accounted for 21 points and 8 steals (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winning side. Four Sancti Spiritus players scored in double figures. International point guard Ineidis Casanova (165-88) came up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 6 assists and 11 steals and power forward Yuliannes Leyva (185-95) added 7 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Santiago in the defeat. Santiago's coach Abelis Robert tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sancti Spiritus. They moved-up to third place. Santiago at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Sancti Spiritus will again play against Santiago (#5) in the next round. Santiago will have a break next round.
