Second Stage Round 8: Grodno-93 - Tsmoki II 89-68

Round 8 in Premier League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Grodno where host Grodno-93 (16-2) crushed league's leader Tsmoki II (15-3) 89-68 on Friday evening. It was a key game for the top position in League. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Artem Malkov (185-88) who scored 25 points. International guard Kiril Sitnik (190-89, agency: Mike Diesel) chipped in 23 points. Power forward Siarhei Kazlou (203-95) produced 19 points and guard Roman Rubinshteyn (195-96) added 12 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno-93 keeps a position of League leader. Tsmoki II at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Grodno-93. Tsmoki II will play next round against strong GOCOR-Sozh trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Grodno-93 will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked BGU Minsk on the road.
