Very predictable result when second ranked Capitalinas (11-4) smashed at home 7th ranked Villa Clara (2-13) 91-71. The game without a history. Capitalinas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Capitalinas outrebounded Villa Clara 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for international Suchitel Avila (184-82) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international center Klavdia Calvo (186-83) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Lissandra Vargas (180-96) came up with 14 points and center Lesdaine Valle (181-92) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Villa Clara in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitalinas maintains second place with 11-4 record having four points less than leader Pinar del Rio. Villa Clara lost their eleventh game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Capitalinas will again play against Villa Clara (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
