Regular Season Round 21: Basquete Cearense - Palmeiras 83-65

We should mention about the upset which took place in Aldeota, where higher ranked Palmeiras (10-11) lost to fifteenth ranked SKY/Basquete (4-16) in a road game 65-83 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by SKY/Basquete. Palmeiras managed to win fourth quarter 32-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Point guard Jeferson Froehlich (193-91) stepped up and scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Andrezao de Sousa (198-90) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Fabricio Russo (196-85) with 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard Arlindo Neto (187-86) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SKY/Basquete maintains fifteenth place with 4-16 record. Loser Palmeiras dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with S.Jose/Unimed. SKY/Basquete will meet higher ranked Mogi (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Palmeiras will play against Macae (#12) and hope to secure a win.
