The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Liege Basket's (7-10) home victory over 10th ranked Kangoeroes (4-14) 86-76 on Friday. The game without a history. Liege Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Liege Basket outrebounded Kangoeroes 41-26 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Jerime Anderson (187-89, college: UCLA) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Liege Basket players scored in double figures. American forward D.J. Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) answered with 25 points and 6 rebounds and guard Senne Geukens (190-83) added 14 points in the effort for Kangoeroes. Kangoeroes' coach Daniel Goethals let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Liege Basket moved-up to eighth place. Kangoeroes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Liege Basket will face higher ranked Limburg United (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kangoeroes will play against Basic-Fit Brussels (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
