Regular Season Round 20: Palencia - Prat 79-77 OT

Thirteenth-ranked CB Prat (5-14) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Palencia Baloncesto (12-6) on Friday. Palencia Baloncesto managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game in overtime by 2 points. The best player for the winners was American swingman Quinn McDowell (195-90, college: William & Mary) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Roger Fornas (202-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Palencia Baloncesto's coach Nacho Lezkano used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Alberto Abalde (200-95) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and power forward Gerbert Marti (203-91) added 14 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Palencia Baloncesto moved-up to third place. Newly promoted CB Prat dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Palencia Baloncesto is looking forward to face Oviedo CB (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CB Prat will play against Lleida Basquet and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
