Regular Season Round 23: Satria Muda - Hangtuah 67-46

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Satria Muda as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Satria Muda smashed 6th ranked Hangtuah in Jakarta 67-46. The game was mostly controlled by Satria Muda. Hangtuah managed to win third quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Satria Muda held Hangtuah to an opponent 23.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.9 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Hangtuah 42-30 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Satria Muda made 10 blocks. Avan Seputera orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points. Point guard H Hardianus (175-92) contributed with 12 points for the winners. The former international Andrie Ekayana (182-82) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds and forward Tony Sugiharto (192-91) added 7 points in the effort for Hangtuah. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Pelita Jaya. Hangtuah lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Hangtuah will play next round against JNE BSC trying to get back on the winning streak. Satria Muda will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Stadium. It will be extra interesting game as Stadium is their local rival from Jakarta.
