Regular Season Round 15: FSU - KFI 114-100

Date: February 6, 2015
There was no surprise in Selfoss where 7th ranked KFI (3-12) was defeated by second ranked FSU (11-3) 114-100 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by FSU. KFI managed to win fourth quarter 28-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by KFI's players. It was a great evening for point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. American forward Collin Pryor (198, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) helped adding 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). FSU's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Birgir Petursson (205-86) with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 17 rebounds and FYR Macedonian forward Florian Jovanov (197-91) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Five KFI players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for FSU. They maintain second place with 11-3 record having seven points less than leader Hottur. KFI lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. FSU will meet Valur (#5) in the next round. KFI will play against the league's leader Hottur and hope to secure a win.
