Regular Season Round 15: Camaguey - Guantanamo 71-51

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Camaguey (5-10) smashed at home bottom-ranked Guantanamo (2-12) 71-51. The game was mostly controlled by Camaguey. Guantanamo was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Guantanamo 45-23 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international Yordany Jaca (195-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Yoanny Baldo (191-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Camaguey players scored in double figures. Guard Daniel Duporte (185-86) answered with 23 points and 5 steals and forward Antonio Sanchez (195-85) added 6 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Guantanamo. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Camaguey maintains sixth place with 5-10 record. Guantanamo lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Camaguey will again play against bottom-ranked Guantanamo (#8) in the next round. Guantanamo will have a break next round.
