Regular Season Round 19: Pogon Prudnik - Stal Ostrow 66-60

Top ranked Stal Ostrow (14-5) recorded its fifth loss on the court of twelfth ranked Pogon Prudnik on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Pogon Prudnik 66-60. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Stal Ostrow. The hosts trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-60. Pogon Prudnik dominated on the defensive end, holding Stal Ostrow to just 4 points in second quarter. Pogon Prudnik forced 22 Stal Ostrow turnovers. Point guard Krzysztof Chmielarz (180-88) fired 23 points for the winners. Swingman Kacper Stalicki (195-92) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Center Wojciech Zurawski (202-76) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and power forward Tomasz Andrzejewski (204-79) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Stal Ostrow's coach Mikolaj Czaja rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pogon Prudnik (7-12) moved-up to tenth place. Stal Ostrow at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Sokol Lancut and Krosno. Pogon Prudnik are looking forward to face higher ranked Spojnia (#8) in Stargard in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stal Ostrow will play at home against Legia (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
