Regular Season Round 17: Rybnik - Sleza Wroclaw 64-72

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Rybnik (8-9) lost at home to seventh ranked Sleza Wroclaw (7-10) 72-64. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-18. But Rybnik won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sleza Wroclaw made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Sleza Wroclaw outrebounded Rybnik 39-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. The former international center Magdalena Leciejewska (191-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Adrianne Ross (173-84, college: TCU) chipped in 22 points. American center Drey Mingo (191-89, college: Purdue, agency: LBM Management) responded with 21 points and the other American import guard Leah Metcalf (170-83, college: N.Carolina) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Sleza Wroclaw maintains seventh place with 7-10 record. Rybnik at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Sleza Wroclaw will play against AZS UMCS (#8) in Lublin in the next round. Rybnik will play on the road against MKK Siedlce and hopes to get back on the winning track.
