The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Guantanamo (10-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Camaguey (5-11). Guantanamo smashed Camaguey 79-51. The game was mostly controlled by Guantanamo. Camaguey was better in fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guantanamo held Camaguey to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Guantanamo forced 23 Camaguey turnovers and had a 26-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Oslaidis Rojas (180-91) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 steals. The former international swingman Islen Carbonell (181-87) contributed with 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Guantanamo players scored in double figures. International forward Leidis Oquendo (180-82) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Naila Alfonso (174-88) added 6 points and 7 steals in the effort for Camaguey. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guantanamo maintains fourth position with 10-4 record. Camaguey at the other side keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. Guantanamo will play against higher ranked Sancti Spiritus (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Camaguey will play against Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
