Second Stage Round 5: RGUOR - Victoria 63-53

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Minsk. First ranked RGUOR faced 3rd placed Victoria. Host RGUOR (9-10) defeated guests from Grodno (4-15) 63-53. The game was mostly controlled by RGUOR. Victoria was better in third quarter 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Victoria to just 6 points in first quarter. RGUOR forced 20 Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Center Hanna Brych (183-97) nailed 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Anastasiya Sushchyk (160-97) accounted for 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. RGUOR's coach Yelena Ivanovskaya allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Yuliya Ruksha (164-98) came up with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and swingman Arina Masko (175-99) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Victoria in the defeat. RGUOR maintains first place in League with 9-10 record. Victoria at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost. RGUOR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Gorizont II.
