There was no surprise in Santoago de Comp where 12th ranked Blusens Monbus (9-11) was defeated by sixth ranked Valencia Basket (12-8) 73-62. It looked good early as Blusens Monbus took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Valencia Basket had a 27-19 second period charge getting the lead and Blusens Monbus was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-73. Point guard Pau Ribas (196-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 4 assists. Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 15 points for the winners. The former international forward Alberto Corbacho (200-84) replied with 15 points and German Maximilian Kleber (207-92, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Blusens Monbus. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Valencia Basket maintains sixth position with 12-8 record. Blusens Monbus at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. Valencia Basket's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Real Madrid at home and it may be quite challenging game. Blusens Monbus will play against CB Canarias (#10) in Tenerife and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
