Regular Season Round 33: Shinshu BW - Sendai 89ers 86-83

Important game to mention about took place in Nagano. Seventh ranked Shinshu BW (13-16) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th placed Sendai 89ers (19-12) 86-83 on Saturday evening. The hosts were ahead by 9 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 28-23 run, which allowed them to win the game. Shinshu BW made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) stepped up and scored 32 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) chipped in 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Shinshu BW's coach Ryuji Kawai allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: KMG Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Adrian Moss (204-81, college: Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Shinshu BW maintains seventh place with 13-16 record. Sendai 89ers at the other side keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Niigata Albirex. Shinshu BW will again play against higher ranked Sendai 89ers (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round.
