Very expected game when 16th ranked Piacentina (5-16) lost to second ranked Ravenna (14-7) in Piacenza 66-74 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-66. Ravenna forced 22 Piacentina turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Eugenio Rivali (178-86) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Lithuanian swingman Paulius Sorokas (200-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian center Andrija Zizic (207-80, agency: Beo Basket) added 16 points in the effort for Piacentina. Ravenna keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Treviso Basket. Piacentina lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Ravenna will face Chieti (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Piacentina will play against Recanati (#5) and hope to win that game.
