The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Alpo VR (1-1) in Verona. Hosts were defeated by Ferrara (2-0) 71-66. It looked good early as Alpo VR took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ferrara had a 22-13 second period charge getting the lead and Alpo VR was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-71. Ferrara forced 22 Alpo VR turnovers. Power forward Giulia Rulli (185-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Argentinian swingman Macarena Rosset (178-91, agency: Players Group) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Giulia Monica (169-87) replied with 11 points and 5 rebounds and guard Anna Rossi (170-85) added 13 points in the effort for Alpo VR. Alpo VR's coach Nicola Soave tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ferrara will play against Irpino (#4) in Ariano Irpino in the next round. Alpo VR will play on the road against San Giovanni in Sesto San Giovanni and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
