Regular Season Round 17: Froya Basket - Asker Aliens 73-76

Seventh-ranked Froya Basket (4-11) gave a tough game to second ranked Asker Aliens (11-5) in Laksevag on Saturday. The visitors from Asker managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-13. But Froya Basket won second period 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Asker Aliens won last quarter 24-23. Guard Anders Stien (195-90) stepped up and scored 32 points for the winners and DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds. American power forward Peter Bullock (198-82, college: Alaska-Anch.) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Latvian point guard Raimonds Gabrans (184-84) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Asker Aliens have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-5 record having just -1 point less than leader Tromso, which they share with Gimle BBK. Froya Basket lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. They share it with Centrum. Asker Aliens will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Froya Basket will play on the road against the league's second-placed Gimle BBK (#2) in Bergen and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
