Regular Season Round 18: Villeneuve - Lattes Montp. 63-76

An interesting game for Lattes Montpellier (15-3) which played road game in Villeneuve against one of their biggest challengers Villeneuve D'Ascq (13-5). Second ranked Lattes Montpellier managed to get a 13-point victory 76-63. The game was mostly controlled by Lattes Montpellier. Villeneuve D'Ascq managed to win second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Villeneuve D'Ascq 32-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for international guard Gaelle Skrela (177-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American center Mistie Bass (191-83, college: Duke) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Belgian center Ann Wauters (194-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Megan Mahoney (183-83, college: Kansas St., agency: LBM Management) added 11 points in the effort for Villeneuve D'Ascq. Lattes Montpellier have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 15-3 record having just two points less than leader Bourges. Villeneuve D'Ascq at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Arras. Lattes Montpellier are looking forward to face Toulouse (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Villeneuve D'Ascq will play against Arras (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
