Regular Season Round 17: Nice - Dunkerque 70-64

An interesting game for Nice (13-3) which hosted in Nice 3rd placed Dunkerque (12-5). Second ranked Nice managed to get a 6-point victory 70-64. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-8. But Dunkerque won second period 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nice dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Dunkerque's 22. Nice forced 19 Dunkerque turnovers and outrebounded them 49-25 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Mali center Astan Dabo (203-92, agency: Comsport) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and American forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Anne-Sophie Pagnier (180-87) responded with 17 points and power forward Dace Pierre-Joseph (187-81) scored 14 points. Nice keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Roche. Dunkerque at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Nice will play against Avenir (#9) in Chartres in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dunkerque will play at home against Aulnoye (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
