Second Stage Round 2: Alghero - Roma SRB 71-81

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Alghero's (0-1) home loss to Roma SRB (2-0) 71-81 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 10 points. Roma SRB forced 23 Alghero turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Marta Masoni (183-93, college: CS Northridge) who scored 26 points. Latvian forward Dace Bicane (185-90, college: Cumberlands) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Argentinian power forward Erica Sanchez (182-76) produced 31 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Sara Azzellini (170-86) added 8 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Roma SRB will have a break next round. Alghero will play at home against Cagliari A. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
