Regular Season Round 18: Perfumerias - Gran Canaria 82-60
Date: February 7, 2015
No shocking result in a game in Salamanca where second ranked Perfumerias Avenida (16-2) smashed 10th ranked Gran Canaria (6-12) 82-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Perfumerias Avenida. Gran Canaria was better in second period 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Perfumerias Avenida forced 20 Gran Canaria turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Gran Canaria's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Angelica Robinson (197-87, college: Georgia, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-89) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Vega Gimeno (185-91, college: Robert Morris, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who recorded 13 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Robyn Parks (183-92, college: VCU) added 19 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perfumerias Avenida have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Girona. Loser Gran Canaria dropped to the ninth place with 12 games lost. Perfumerias Avenida will face Socinsa Bembibre (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Gran Canaria will play against Campus Promete and hope to win that game.
