Second Stage Round 5: Tsmoki-Minsk - Olimpia 83-72

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Minsk. First ranked Tsmoki-Minsk faced 3rd placed Olimpia GrGAU. Host Tsmoki-Minsk (18-1) defeated guests from Grodno (11-8) 83-72. The game was mostly controlled by Tsmoki-Minsk. Olimpia GrGAU managed to win fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tsmoki-Minsk forced 22 Olimpia GrGAU turnovers and outrebounded them 49-33 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international center Viktoriya Hasper (193-88) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and international forward Maryia Papova (189-94) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four Tsmoki-Minsk players scored in double figures. point guard Katsiaryna Kashlei (171-90) responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds and forward Natallia Kozun (189-88) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place in League with 18-1 record. Loser Olimpia GrGAU keeps the third position with eight games lost. Tsmoki-Minsk's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Gorizont.
