Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Trieste (1-18) was outscored on the road by eighth ranked Lucca (10-9) 92-62. The game was mostly controlled by Lucca. Trieste was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Trieste's 26. Lucca forced 32 Trieste turnovers and outrebounded them 46-25 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Kayla Pedersen (193-89, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. Bosnian center Nikolina Milic (191-94, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 11 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Five Lucca players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lucca moved-up to seventh place. Trieste lost their seventeenth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Lucca will play against Vigarano (#9) at home in the next round. Trieste will play against San Martino (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
