Regular Season Round 34: Shinshu BW - Sendai 89ers 69-85

There was no surprise in Nagano where 7th ranked Shinshu BW (13-17) was defeated by fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (20-12) 85-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Shinshu BW was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sendai 89ers dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 30. Sendai 89ers forced 19 Shinshu BW turnovers. American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: KMG Sports Management) had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Adrian Moss (204-81, college: Florida) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio) responded with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Junki Kano (192-88) scored 18 points. Shinshu BW's coach Ryuji Kawai let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sendai 89ers maintains fourth position with 20-12 record, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the seventh place with 17 games lost. Sendai 89ers will face Aomori Watts (#6) at home in the next round.
