Regular Season Round 29: Kumamoto V. - Tsukuba R. 76-64

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Kumamoto V.'s (4-24) home victory over 6th ranked Tsukuba R. (3-28) 76-64 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kumamoto V.. Tsukuba R. was better in third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American center Josh Warren (206-88, college: Troy) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 21 rebounds. Keita Takata chipped in 12 points and 8 assists. Five Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. American forward Duke Crews (203-88, college: Bowie St.) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import power forward Justin Reynolds (206-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Kumamoto V. used an opportunity after Wakayama T. lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Tsukuba R. at the other side keeps the sixth place with 28 games lost. Kumamoto V. will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsukuba R. will play at home against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers (#1) and hope to win that game.
