Regular Season Round 21: FCM Ferentino - Fileni BPA Jesi 83-70

Very expected game when 14th ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (6-14) was defeated on the road by third ranked FCM Ferentino (14-7) 83-70. The game was mostly controlled by FCM Ferentino. Fileni BPA Jesi was better in third quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FCM Ferentino dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Fileni BPA Jesi's 30. It was a good game for American point guard Markel Starks (188-91, college: Georgetown) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 5 assists. Naturalized Argentinian Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-81) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five FCM Ferentino players scored in double figures. American power forward Ivan Elliott (203-86, college: UCSB) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and the former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Fileni BPA Jesi. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. FCM Ferentino maintains third place with 14-7 record having four points less than leader Tezenis VE. Fileni BPA Jesi at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. FCM Ferentino's next round opponent will be Manital Torino (#4) on the road. Fileni BPA Jesi will play against Mantovana (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
