A2 Gold top team - Tezenis VE (18-3) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Mantovana (7-13) in Mirandola 79-65. The game was mostly controlled by Tezenis VE. Mantovana managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American power forward Darryl Monroe (198-86, college: George Mason) stepped up and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and international point guard Andrea De Nicolao (185-91) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Tezenis VE players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Swedish Viktor Gaddefors (201-92) with 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and naturalized American forward Ryan Amoroso (205-85, college: San Diego St.) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Tezenis VE have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-3 record. Mantovana lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Tezenis VE are looking forward to face Novipiu Casale (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mantovana will play against Fileni BPA Jesi (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
