Regular Season Round 34: Fukuoka Rizing - Osaka Evessa 74-82

Very predictable result when fifth ranked Osaka Evessa (19-13) defeated on the road 10th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (7-25) 82-74 on Sunday. Fukuoka Rizing trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 28-21 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 74-82 at the end of the game. Osaka Evessa forced 19 Fukuoka Rizing turnovers. Fukuoka Rizing was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Joshua Dollard (203-86, college: USC Aiken) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and Shota Konno (184-85) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman John Humphrey (188-80, college: Middle Tenn.St.) responded with 34 points (!!!) and his fellow American import forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Joe Bryant rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Osaka Evessa maintains fifth position with 19-13 record. Fukuoka Rizing lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 25 games lost. Osaka Evessa will face Bambitious Nara (#9) at home in the next round. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Kyoto Hannar. and hope to win that game.
