Second Stage Round 6: Sozh-GGU - Victoria 75-58

An interesting game for Sozh-GGU (5-15) which hosted in Gomel one of their biggest challengers Victoria (4-16). Third ranked Sozh-GGU had an easy win 75-58. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Sozh-GGU's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-9 extending their advantage to 17 points. They also forced 21 Victoria turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Elena Gorelikova (178-92) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Katsiaryna Nialepka (178-93) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds. Four Sozh-GGU players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Arina Masko (175-99) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and forward Anastasiya Haryna (188-94) added 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Sozh-GGU moved-up to second place in League. Victoria at the other side keeps the fourth position with 16 games lost. Sozh-GGU's next round opponent will be league's leader RGUOR in Minsk and it will be for sure the game of the week. Victoria will play at home against Gorizont II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
